What's been going on.  

Wow, it's aready March 12th. That's nuts. I meant to post at the end of February or the start of March. But things got a bit busy with having to bounce back to Osaka for a party and then it being graduation time.

In short. The “final” taiko lesson with Junya-sensei was awesome, I got to play one of the huge ass drums, tore up my hands with new blisters and got epic back ache from over stretching and reaching! Then after that we got little ol' Junya-sensei drunk at dinner and then a bunch of us carried on a karaoke for about an hour. Epic fun times.

Graduation was the same as always but it was harder to feel sad this time because I'd only been at the school with those particular students for about 3 months at that point. Some of the students took photos with me, made me glad that I took a bit of effort to fo my hair different (poofy bun). But... it was a bit spoiled with a good number of them calling me the previous ALTs name even after those 3 months. It was all followed up with a jolly drinking party with the teachers, nice fuzzy-puppy-English-teacher drove me home. I'm sure all the teachers talked about that all this last week because they do like a good gossip.

And now I've had as much confirmation about my job as I'm going to get for now, mainly that I'm going back to Osaka to a similar schedule as before. But now we're in the awkward part where the schools don't know that I'm leaving. I'm trying to pack up my things at home slowly, thankfully it has warmed up a bit so I will be able to pack up more of the wintery things. Not that I have much to pack.

I have a few bits to get rid of, someone has claimed my kettle, the teacher who I have confided in that I'm leaving wants my iron. All that's really left that I MUST get rid of is the futon and washing pole.

Well, it about 2 weeks I will be home!


30 day drawing challenge (due September) - 7 pictures done so far.
Learn 大太鼓 part of Hyuuga (due April) – Getting a bit closer, not had too much time.
Tracking food (daily) – been ill a few times, so dropped a few days. Also had a few drinking parties so that got dropped too.
Yoga (daily) – same as above.
